Architectural Steel Stairs

At NewyFab we can manufacture a wide range of residential steel stairs and stringer fabrications.

Available to staircase carpenters, builders and general public

We utilise CAD for accuracy, can arrange site measure and also perform installs of most of our steel.

Please note we do not perform carpentry/timber work, in most projects it will need to be arranged with an experienced third party.

For Newcastle locals we highly recommend CPR stairs (located in Gateshead) for related timber and carpentry requirements

With steel stringers you can achieve shapes and geometry not possible using only timber, using the versatility of welding and CNC cut plates

Spine beam stringer (mono stringer)

Popular option using one central rectangular beam to support the treads.

Available in powdercoat finish for interior locations.

Also available as dual RHS stringer

PFC stringers

Heavy duty industrial style stairs. Extremely strong and allows versatility in attachment of balustrades.

Made from PFC sections (Parallel flange channel)

Available galvanised & painted or powdercoated for internal or external locations

Folded

Folded plate stairs, made from 5mm steel plate pressed to shape. Integrated balustrade of choice

Must be fixed to structurally suitable wall

Internal only. Requires non slip coating or nosing/tape

Sawtooth plate stringer

CNC cut plate stringers with a sawtooth pattern on the top edge of the stringer.

Generally made from 12mm steel plate

Overhang Cut String

CNC cut plate stringers with a sawtooth pattern on the top edge of the stringer.

Generally made from 12mm steel plate

Flat plate stringer

Straight stringers made from flat plate

Generally made from 12mm steel plate

Lightweight RHS stringers

Made from 150×50 RHS

Either “z fold” checkerplate treads or welded cleats to allow fixing timber treads.

Available in galvanised finish only.

Lower cost option for external usage. Good replacement for rotting timber staircase
